Jo Courtney

Jo Thompson Courtney serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for Central Arkansas Water, where she provides executive leadership for the Finance, Customer Service, Information Services, Human Resources, and Communications departments. She brings nearly 30 years of government and operational experience to the utility.

Jo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Master of Science in Sociology with an emphasis in Research and Statistics from the University of Central Arkansas.

Before joining CAW, Jo served as Associate Deputy Director and Chief Financial Officer at the Arkansas Department of Health. Her career also includes service as Chief Operations Officer at the Arkansas Office of Health Information Technology, as well as several leadership roles at the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

Beyond her professional work, Jo is an associate minister at Saint Mark Baptist Church, a past chaplain for the Little Rock Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and a volunteer speaker at the Arkansas State Hospital and the Arkansas Department of Corrections. She previously chaired the Little Rock Commission for Children, Youth and Families.

Jo and her husband, David, reside in Little Rock.
