CAW Honored with Million Work Hours Safety Award
LITTLE ROCK - Central Arkansas Water (CAW), the state’s largest water utility, proudly announced that it has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1,000,000 hours without any lost time injuries. In recognition of this outstanding accomplishment, CAW has been awarded the Million Work Hours Safety Award by the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing and the Arkansas Workers Compensation Commission.
"Reaching one million work hours without a lost time injury is a remarkable accomplishment that speaks volumes about the culture of safety we have cultivated at Central Arkansas Water," said Kevin Hall, Director of Environmental Health and Safety at CAW.
The Million Work Hours Safety Award is granted to organizations that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to workplace safety by achieving a substantial number of work hours without any lost time injuries. Central Arkansas Water's achievement highlights its proactive approach to safety protocols, employee training, and the implementation of best practices in the workplace to arm employees with the tools necessary to stay safe.
CAW focuses on safety through a comprehensive program of training sessions, including classroom sessions and hands-on opportunities. CAW employees are celebrated when they identify a safety concern and speak up about it, allowing policies and procedures to change based on what employees are seeing in the field every day.
