Utility Bill Assistance Programs

Announcements

Update - January 31, 2022

Effective Friday, January 28th at 5:00 pm Central Time, the Arkansas Department of Human Services (DHS) is pausing the acceptance of new Rent Relief Program applications to make adjustments to the payment process to require eligible tenant-only payments to be made payable to both the landlord and the tenant.

DHS will continue to process applications that have already been submitted and may re-open applications if available funding remains after approved applications are paid out using the new payment process. Applicants that applied for rent relief can still check the application status at any time by visiting ar.gov/rentrelief and selecting “Track Status.”

The Arkansas Rent Relief Program assisted eligible persons who were unable to pay past-due and/or future rent or past-due utilities dating back to April 2020. From the program's inception, DHS shared it would continue through the end of 2021.
